Bilberry for Diabetes Therapy

Bilberry is one of the herbals that can be used in diabetes therapy with some success in helping to regulate the blood glucose level and some of the diabetes complications. The pigments of this plant have antioxidant properties, and the fruit of the plant contains anthocyanosides properties. Both of the properties in this plant have herbal benefits for certain health conditions including diabetes.

Studies that have been done suggest using bilberry with caution and blood sugar levels need to be tested often. The physician should also be made aware of the use of this herbal and urine testing should be done on a regular bases.

This is because one of the things this herbal plant can do is help to lower the blood sugar level, which means it can be dangerous for a person with diabetes if the blood sugar level is too low. By monitoring the blood glucose level often low blood sugar can be avoided.
