Bitter Melon while used his herbal is actually a plant native to South America, Africa and Asia that is also known as balsam pear. This fruit when unripe has compounds that have been proven to be effective for a lowering of blood glucose level in people affected by diabetes. The use of this balsam pear should be monitored by the physician and with testing the blood sugar level often; this is because while it has no drug interactions or known side effects it can react differently for different people.
