Chromium for Diabetes Therapy


Chromium is one of the minerals that can be used for diabetes therapy to help keep the blood glucose level. This is also a mineral that research has been done in connection with diabetes, which support the use of chromium as a being beneficial for diabetes maintenance.

This mineral has especially shown promise in glucose intolerance for type II diabetes mellitus and beneficial as diabetes therapy for gestational diabetes.  The use of chromium helps by improving insulin sensitivity.

What chromium does in the body is to assist the insulin to work more effectively, and is beneficial to the body by helping to regulate blood glucose levels after eating carbohydrates. This mineral also helps the body’s use of carbohydrates, protein and fat.

The first chromium study involving diabetes was published in 1977 and research continues as this mineral can be beneficial in regulating the blood sugar level.
