Diabetes is not a Serious Disease—The Real Facts


Diabetes is a serious disease and one that must be monitored, not monitoring the blood glucose level often and not eating a proper diet. The fact is that diabetes can be a very serious disease when not monitored; there can be complications that can cause amputation, blindness, heart disease and even death.

When the person that has been diagnosed with diabetes takes their condition seriously they can lead a full life. This means monitoring the blood sugar level with blood testing at home often, visiting the physician regularly, and eating a proper diet that consists of the right foods for someone with diabetes. Taking medication whether it is oral insulin or injection insulin at the proper time daily is also one of the important things that should be followed.

One of these facts is that diabetes patients are at risk for heart disease and stroke, which leads to many deaths every year.
