Diabetic Coma Symptoms


The person that is diagnosed with diabetes and could experience a diabetic coma could have symptoms before they would slip into a coma. The diabetic coma does not just happen, there are symptoms that can occur if the blood sugar level is too high or too low.
The diabetic with high blood sugar could experience certain symptoms prior to going into a coma:

  • The diabetic could experience increased thirst
  • They could experience frequent urination
  • The diabetic could experience a dry mouth
  • Nausea could be experienced
  • Vomiting could be experienced
  • Shortness of breath is commonly experienced

The diabetic that suffers from low blood sugar will also have symptoms that can include:

  • The diabetic could experience nervousness or feel shaky
  • Tiredness or lethargy can be a symptom of low blood sugar
  • The diabetic patient with low blood sugar might feel sweaty
  • The diabetic might have a feeling of continuous hunger
  • The diabetic with low blood sugar could be irritable
  • The diabetic with low blood sugar could be confused
