Diabetics Get Colds, Flu and Viruses More Often than Non-Diabetics

Diabetics get colds, flu and viruses more often than non-diabetics are false, while it is advised that a person with diabetes should get a yearly flu shot. This is recommended not because diabetics get sick more often than other people; it is because when sick it is more difficult to keep the blood glucose level in the normal range.

In many cases people that are not diabetics will become sick with a cold, flu or virus sooner than someone that has diabetes because they do not eat as healthy as someone on a diabetic diet.

Not eating properly has a lot to do with the immune system not being able to protect the body and someone that is diabetic that monitors their blood glucose level will need to eat a healthy diet and that also helps boost the immune system.
