Easing Nighttime Diabetes Pain

Diabetics often have pain at night when they sleep; this is usually from complications of the disease and can even occur due to poor blood circulation. Reducing nighttime pain means that the body can get the rest it needs and proper sleep is extremely important for the person that is a diabetic to keep their blood glucose level in the normal range and to avoid some of the complications associated with diabetes.

One of the most important ways to avoid night pain in the legs is to move around often during the day, because sitting for long periods of time can cause poor blood circulation in the legs at night. If sitting is required for work, then taking a walk for between 15 and 20 minutes daily will help the blood flow in the body.

Pain can also  be associated with arthritis and other conditions that actually have nothing to do with diabetes, and for these the physician can help find a proper treatment to go along with the diabetes therapy the person is doing to keep their blood glucose level in the normal range.
