The eye diabetes complications that diabetics can suffer from its diabetic retinopathy, or eye complications and usually affects diabetics that had diabetes for at least five years, and in most cases is Type I diabetes. This is a disease of the small blood vessels in the back of the eye that is caused by leakage of protein and blood into the retina.
This disease of the blood vessels can also cause the formation of small aneurysms known as microaneurysms. It can also cause new but brittle blood vessels from which bleeding can occur into the retina causing scarring and detachment. |
