Some patients while administrating this drug might get some severe side effects such as confusion, fever, fainting, dark urine, sore throat and chills. Low blood sugar in the body can result in symptoms such as drowsiness, anxiety, lightheadedness, irregular heartbeat, tremors, weakness and unusual sweating. Severe allergic reactions such as itching, hives, rash, difficulty in breathing and swelling of lips, tongue, face or mouth also can be seen in some patients. This drug is also known to give some hematologic side effects such as aplastic anemia, pancytopenia, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and agranulocytosis. You can also get endocrine reactions with this medication such as hyponatremia and syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone also known as (SAIDH). Disulfiram and hepatic porphyria like reactions can be also seen during the medication of this drug. |
