Healthy eating For Type 2 Diabetes

Special emphasis for people suffering from type 2 diabetes is laid on the type of their diet intake. A well-balanced healthy diet should be consumed by people suffering from type 2 diabetes which consists of protein and calcium rich food such as nuts, beans, poultry and fish. Reduce the intake of calorie rich foods such as red meat and saturated fats.

 Regular exercise proves to be beneficial in keeping your blood sugar levels under control. Increase the proportion of fibrous food, green leafy vegetables and high amount of fruits in your balanced diet but avoid the consumption of white potatoes as it contains too much carbohydrate. Trans and saturated fats must be replaced with vegetable oils as it keeps the sugar level under control. Avoid excessive intake of salt and alcohol as it can worsen the condition of type2 diabetes and may even lead to death.

 

Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose during the process of digestion, this glucose stimulates the blood cells thereby providing sufficient energy to the body so include carbohydrates rich food such as rice, legumes, cereals, cakes bread in your diet. But high level of carbohydrate can increase the level of blood sugar in the body and hence it should be restricted to limited amount.
