Insulin Needle Disposal

One of the things that the person with type I diabetes will have is insulin needles, and these while needed should also be disposed of in a way that no one else will come in contact with them and be injured. There are several ways to take care of this, the firs is to use a sniper to clip the tip off of the insulin needle, this way it cannot harm anyone when in the garbage. The second way is to put insulin needles with the cap securely on them into a plastic milk container then dispose of the container.

One thing that should be checked into and that is the county hazardous waste policy, this policy will outline what should be done to dispose of insulin needles for refuse collection. This is because there are some locations that do have special rules for getting rid of medical refuse.
