Juvenile Diabetes Management

Juvenile diabetes management is an around the clock job for parents, this is because everything needs to be monitored. The intake of food, the blood glucose levels, stress, physical activity, and other things that arise with children are all things that need to be monitored.

School can present some problems and the blood sugar should be tested and if insulin will need to be taken during school the child will either need to understand how to do their injections or if they are to young the school nurse will have to be involved in the diabetes management plan.

Physical activity will also need to be monitored along with the blood glucose to ensure that the amount of activity will not affect the glucose values by raising or lowering it. The coordination of blood sugar testing, involvement with the school nurse, physical activity, meal plans and other diabetic care is important parts of the juvenile plan.
