L-Carnitine for Diabetes Therapy


Diabetes therapy is one of the things that a diabetic needs to have in place and one of the things that can help is L-caritine for diabetes therapy. This is a supplement that is needed by the body to properly use fat for energy. This supplement improves the fatty acids and there is some evidence that it can play a role in preventing the diabetic complication known as diabetic ketoacidosis.

In studies in have been done diabetics that have had high blood levels of both fat and cholesterol, along with triglycerides and then treated with regular doses of L-carnitine have dropped these by between 25 and 39 percent.

The use of this supplement can be extremely beneficial both type I and type II diabetics, however the blood sugar level should be tested often. The physician should also be told that this is part of the diabetic therapy that is being used so they are also able to monitor with both blood and urine testing.
