There can be side effects associated with every type of oral diabetes medication that can affect some diabetic patients. When taking a class of oral diabetes medications known as meglitinides side effects can be mild or dangerous.

The side effects associated with this class oral diabetes medication can be upset stomach or can cause low blood sugar, which is also known as hypoglycemia. Diabetics taking this type of oral medication and have upset stomachs is the more mild of the side effects associated with this drug.
