Side Effects of Second Generation Sulfonylureas Diabetes Medications

The type II diabetic is usually prescribed oral diabetes pills, this will be able to control the blood glucose level and at the same time might have side effects for some people.  These side effects are often things that can be tolerated and in other cases the type of oral diabetes medications might need to be changed to a different type of medication.

The side effects that can occur are different with each class of medication, and can also occur in different degrees in each person.  Taking the oral diabetic medications is meant to help the production of insulin and regulate the blood sugar level, but it is also a type of medication that must be monitored closely as in some cases it can cause liver problems and other major conditions.

Monitoring will include blood testing and can also include occasional X-Rays and other testing.
