Common Symptoms of Juvenile Diabetes

Children can also be diabetic and in some cases it can be Type I diabetes and be a serious medical condition. There are some signs that may be symptoms of diabetes in children that can occur just as adults can have diabetic symptoms. The most common of the symptoms in juvenile diabetes are irritability, frequent urination, nausea or vomiting, unquenchable thirst, changes in eyesight, an increased appetite, fatigue or weakness, and sudden weight loss can be indicators of diabetes.

Children that are in school might also have problems with concentration prior to being diagnosed with diabetes. Sleep is often restless or the child might have problems falling asleep more than what the child’s usual pattern is.

Children that suddenly have these types of symptoms should be seen by their physician, who will do testing to see if their body is making the proper amount of insulin.
