Vitamin B 12 for Diabetes Therapy


vitamin B12 is important for people with diabetes to take as a supplement, and it is also vitamin there will be no side effects or drug interactions with insulin or other medicines. Vitamin B12 is also one of the vitamins that can be taken orally, intravenously or can be taken by injection.

What vitamin B does for the diabetic is to assist body with glucose tolerance and is needed for normal functioning of the nerve cells. One of the things that this vitamin is able to do is reduce the amount of current damage that can be caused by complications of diabetes.

This vitamin should not be taken large amounts, as this can have dangerous effects for the diabetes patients. If considering taking larger amounts than what is recommended for daily supplement the diabetic should speak with their physician so that this larger intake of vitamin B12 can be monitored closely.
