Being Over Weight Means Becoming a Type II Diabetic


One of the myths about type II diabetes is that being overweight will mean been diagnosed with this condition. Type II diabetes is a disease that comes from genetics, age, ethnic background and that these factors we can play a role in diabetic diagnosis.

Obesity alone without these other factors cannot cause type II diabetes, this is only a myth by people that do not understand being diabetic. The fact is that most people that are overweight are never diagnosed with type II diabetes.

Some people that are diagnosed with type II diabetes are at a normal weight or slightly overweight, but also have the other factors present that lead to the diagnosis, such as a family history. This type of diabetes does need to be diagnosed and treated, but gaining weight does not need to be a reason for diabetic testing.
